A “5G Day of Action” rally will be held at Waterfront Park (1600 block of Harbor Drive) in front of the Guardian of Water sculpture by the San Diego County Administration building, facing the harbor on Wed., May 15^th, from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM. This rally is part of a coordinated series of rallies across the USA on Wed, at that time, to protest the planned installation of hazardous 5G small cells in our communities.

We expect up to a hundred people at this rally in San Diego, located symbolically in front of the San Diego County Administration building, as our goal is to “stop 5G deployment throughout San Diego County and all of California”. The rally is sponsored by “Stop 5G California”, a project of Center for Electrosmog Prevention, a 501c3 nonprofit which seeks to reduce and prevent electrosmog pollution, a dangerous, manmade pollutant that will be exponentially increased if the 5G plan is carried out.

Concerns about 5G include close range exposure to microwave radiation, already shown in tens of thousands of studies to have a grave impact on public health; lack of safety testing for the entire plan; fire risks; loss of privacy; and security. Prominent members of the scientific community are objecting to 5G by the many hundreds. These include Dr. Beatrice Golomb, UCSD researcher, who objected to the state of CA’s failed bill SB 649, intended to promote 5G, as follows, pertaining to those made sick from microwave illness (after exposure to microwave radiation):

Affected individuals not only experience “symptoms” that “merely” cause them distress and suffering, when they are exposed – symptoms like headaches, ringing ears, and chest pain from impaired blood flow, heart rhythm abnormalities, and inability to sleep. These symptoms arise from physiological injury. Moreover, many experience significant health problems that can include seizures, heart failure, hearing loss, and severe cognitive impairment. The mechanisms involved are those also involved in development and progression of neurodegenerative conditions including Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Ronald Melnick PhD, the National Institutes of Health Senior Scientist who led the design of the National Toxicology Program (NTP) studies on cell phone radiation (which proved cancer can be caused by microwave radiation), had this to say in Nov. 2018:

” All new wireless technologies, including 5G, should be adequately tested before their implementation leads to unacceptable levels of human exposures and increased health risks.” and “Prior to the start of the NTP studies, it was assumed by the industry and the regulatory agencies that radiofrequency radiation could not cause adverse health effects other than those due to tissue heating. So we designed this study to investigate if non-thermal exposures would cause health effects. In the NTP studies, there was clear evidence of cancer development and other adverse health effects at non thermal exposure levels. ”
