On October 6, 2020, I have sent an Open Message to ICNIRP’s Eric van Rongen and Rodney Croft. The Open Message was sent by e-mail and was addressed specifically to Eric van Rongen ([email protected]) and to Rodney Croft ([email protected]), not to the ICNIRP as such. The message included exactly the text that I posted on my blog. At the beginning of this e-mail I have also included direct link to the blog post with the Open Message.

Since I did not receive any response, on October 14, 2020, I have sent inquiry message:

Dear Eric and Rodney, On October 6, 2020, I sent you an Open Message asking for clarifications on the 2020 ICNIRP safety guidelines. Please, kindly let me immediately know whether you intend to respond and, if so, when I could expect your response to my Open Message. Best wishes, Dariusz

Today, on October 15, 2020, I received a slightly “puzzling” message from Rodney Croft, addressed to me ([email protected]) and CC to Eric van Rongen ([email protected]). The puzzling part was the advice from Rodney to either send message to ICNIRP or, if I am inquiring answers from specific scientists to send message directly to the scientists. Well, I did it exactly that in my e-mail sent on October 6, 2020, to Eric and Rodney. Here is the “puzzling” message from the Chairman of ICNIRP:

Dear Dariusz, Thank you for your email. If you have any questions that are appropriate to ask of ICNIRP, could I ask that you submit those via the ICNIRP website (https://www.icnirp.org/en/contact/contact/index.html). If you have questions that are directed to individual scientists, it would be best to contact those scientists directly as ICNIRP cannot respond on behalf of individual scientists. Regards, Professor Rodney Croft

To this message from Rodney Croft I have immediately responded, on October 15, 2020, with the following message to Rodney Croft and CC to Eric van Rongen:

Dear Rodney, My questions are in my Open Message and are clearly addressed to you and Eric. Or is there any problem for you both to respond to my Open Message? Thank you, Dariusz

The exchange with Rodney Croft was as I expected. It looks like ICNIRP cannot answer on behalf of individual scientist(s) and that individual scientists shouldn’t (?) give answers on behalf of ICNIRP. So, waiting for response might take some time.

Well, right now I have attempted to send my Open Message to the ICNIRP web address provided by Rodney Croft.

The form provided by ICNIRP is limiting number of letters in question and it makes impossible to send the whole Open Message.

I wonder and am puzzled what will happen…
