The study “Effects of 4G mobile phone radiation exposure on reproductive, hepatic, renal, and hematological parameters of male Wistar rat.” was published in the journal Environmental Science and Pollution Research International concluding that, “chronic exposure to 4G radiation may affect the male reproductive system, hematological system, liver, and kidney of rats.”

Gautam et al (2023) exposed rats to frequencies used in 4G radiation (2350 MHz) for 2 h/day for 56 days a a level which is much lower than the FCC/ICNIRP exposure limit and found a significant decrease in sperm viability with alterations in the histology of the liver, kidney, testis, and other reproductive organs in the exposed rats. Reduced testosterone, reduced total antioxidant capacity, decreased sperm mitochondrial function and differences in red blood cells were also observed.

The animals were exposed to an average power density of 0.2488 mW/cm² which is about one-fourth of the FCC exposure limit of 1.0 mW/cm².
