Mobile phones and wireless technologies emit radiofrequency (RF) radiation. Mounting scientific evidence suggests that prolonged exposure can lead to serious health consequences, especially for the most vulnerable among us.

What Does the Science Say?
In 2011, the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified RF radiation as a Group 2B “possible human carcinogen.”

Since then, a growing body of peer-reviewed research has prompted many independent scientists and physicians to call for an urgent upgrade to Group 2A (“probable”) or even Group 1 (“known human carcinogen”).

👶 Children Are Especially at Risk
Scientific modelling shows children absorb up to 10 times more RF radiation into the bone marrow of the skull than adults. Their thinner skulls, smaller heads, and more conductive brain tissue make them far more vulnerable to long-term harm.

🧠 Cancer Risks Confirmed in Landmark Studies

Two of the most comprehensive independent studies ever conducted the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP) and Italy’s Ramazzini Institute both reached the same alarming conclusion:

Clear evidence of cancer.

In male rats, researchers found statistically significant increases in:

  • Heart schwannomas (tumours of the nerve sheath), and
  • Gliomas (aggressive brain tumours)

Crucially, these tumours developed at RF levels within or below current “safety” limits the same limits used to justify today’s wireless rollouts.

💔 Fertility Effects Cannot Be Ignored
Emerging research links RF radiation to:

  • Damaged reproductive cells
  • Lower sperm count and motility
  • Impaired ovarian development

Laboratory and epidemiological studies also show links to oxidative stresshormone disruption, and inflammation in reproductive tissues.

Doctors and Scientists Sound the Alarm
In 2020, global radiation health experts released a Consensus Statement calling for:

  • Immediate exposure reduction
  • A moratorium on 5G rollout
  • Updated, biologically based safety standards
  • Public education on wireless health risks

🌍 Protecting Children’s Rights in the Digital Age
On 13 December 2023, campaigners including Eileen O’Connor, Frank Clegg, and Shelley Wright launched the Children’s Declaration on Human Rights in the Digital Age in a historic international webinar.

The Declaration highlights:

  • Involuntary and excessive exposure of children to RF radiation
  • Links to screen addiction and commercial exploitation
  • A call to governments and public health bodies to:
    • Uphold children’s right to health
    • Reduce digital environmental exposures
    • Enforce ethical limits around children and wireless tech

It has been formally submitted to the UN Human Rights CouncilEuropean Council, and WHO Assembly.

The Bigger Picture: No Escape, No Say
Our global addiction to mobile phones feeds a relentless demand for constant connectivity driving the spread of phone masts, small cell antennas, and 5G infrastructure into every corner of our lives.

We are now surrounded by RF radiation:
🏡 Homes | 🏫 Schools | 🏥 Hospitals | 🚉 Public transport | 🌳 Parks

There is no escape and no democratic say.

We must speak not just for ourselves, but for the voiceless:
🐦 Birds | 🐝 Bees | 🐾 Pets | 🌲 Forests |

The living world is suffering silent harm from this invisible pollutant.

It’s time to hold up a mirror not just to industry or government, but to our own hands.
As the song goes:

“If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.”

We must stop the black mirror before it stops us.

Take Action: Be Informed. Be Empowered.
