Five new smartphones have just been withdrawn from the French market and recalled from consumers. Four models (Doogee N55 Plus, Infinix Smart 9, AGM Note 11, Nothing Phone (3a)) exceed regulatory wave exposure limits (SAR), and a fifth, the Samsung A5 (1), is being withdrawn due to serious non-compliance with European regulations.
These new decisions by the French National Frequency Agency (ANFR) bring the number of phones and tablets withdrawn, recalled, or updated in France to 71 since the NGO Phonegate Alert was founded in 2018.
A one-year delay in alerting consumers
This announcement by the ANFR also highlights a major regulatory failure: consumers were only informed on July 30, 2026, even though the laboratory tests revealing non-compliance were conducted between July and September 2025.

Reaction from Dr. Marc Arazi, President of Phonegate Alert:
“Each new recall confirms that our fight is essential. However, for our NGO, it is unacceptable that consumers continue using dangerous smartphones for nearly a year before being informed. Protecting public health requires immediate transparency, not alerts issued months after the fact.”
Since 2018, Phonegate Alert has been calling for any detected non-compliance to be immediately communicated to consumers, published without delay by the authorities, and systematically uploaded to European market surveillance databases.
Note regarding the Samsung Galaxy A55: The recall exclusively concerns model reference SM-A556E/DS, an international variant imported and sold by third parties (notably Valex). The model officially sold by Samsung in France (SM-A556B/DS) is not targeted by this measure.
