From Liverpool to the HHS: Susan Foster’s Continuing Work on Wireless Radiation Research

By Eileen O’Connor, Director of the EM Radiation Research Trust

I’m delighted to highlight the work of Susan Foster, a valued advisor to the EM Radiation Research Trust and a long-standing friend and colleague.

Susan visited the UK in July 2015, when we presented together at the University of Liverpool. Our presentation, Discovering Cancer: From Grassroots to Global, brought together our experiences, research and concerns about electromagnetic radiation and public health.

More than a decade later, Susan continues to contribute to discussions about wireless radiation and public health.

She has submitted substantial comments and supporting scientific information to the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in response to its request for information on electromagnetic fields (EMF), radiofrequency (RF) radiation and wireless exposure.

Her submissions address a wide range of subjects, including:

🔬 Scientific research into reported health effects of wireless radiation
🧠 Neurological health, memory, sleep and cognitive function
🤰 Fertility, pregnancy and developmental health
👶 Children and potentially susceptible populations
📡 Real-world exposure, including pulsed and modulated signals
🏥 Reported illness clusters and the need for appropriate public-health investigations
📋 Scientific transparency, regulatory accountability and independent research

Susan is calling for a transparent, evidence-based assessment of the scientific literature, greater attention to unresolved questions and appropriate consideration of public-health concerns.

Wider contributions to the HHS review

Susan’s work forms part of a wider effort to bring scientific research and international perspectives to the attention of HHS. The Radiation Research Trust (RRT) and the International EMF Alliance (IEMFA) have also submitted evidence to this review, highlighting relevant scientific literature, exposure guidelines and the importance of transparent, independent assessment.
