Phonegate crosses the mark of 65 mobile phones withdrawn or updated in France

The French National Frequency Agency (ANFR) has just ordered the market withdrawal of the Nubia Z70 Ultra smartphone (NX733J). Furthermore, the agency is requesting the recall of these Chinese devices distributed by Golden Stream. This decision follows an overexposure exceeding the regulatory limit for limb Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) (4.923 W/kg).
⏱️ Twelve months between testing and public notification
According to ANFR, testing of the Nubia Z70 Ultra took place in July 2025.
However, the authority only made this decision public in July 2026, nearly twelve months later. As a result, the phone remained on sale throughout this period, and consumers used the device without knowing it was non-compliant.
⚠️ A real-world SAR close to 10 W/kg
Phonegate Alert’s calculator evaluates exposure in direct contact with the body at 9.846 W/kg. Consequently, this value exceeds the regulatory limit of 4 W/kg by nearly double.

Furthermore, no information regarding the Nubia Z70 Ultra yet appears in the European public databases ICSMS and Safety Gate, which are meant to ensure the rapid dissemination of alerts across Europe.
